Governance
Scientific steering is provided by the Scientific Council of the Savoie Mont Blanc University, which establishes an annual activity report of the MUST project.
The management team
The management team is made up of:
- the Vice-President for Research at Savoie Mont Blanc University as USMB Scientific Manager of the project and a CNRS Scientific Manager appointed by IN2P3: both are responsible for managing relationships with supervisory bodies and research teams,
- the Technical Manager of the project: he is responsible for ensuring the technical and operational functioning and proposing the changes necessary for the development of the mesocenter.
The Management Team is supported by a Steering Committee in charge of presenting the annual activity report of MUST project to the Research Commission of the Academic Council of Savoie Mont Blanc University.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee, chaired by the USMB Scientific Manager of the project, is responsible for monitoring the progress of the project, preparing the activity report and the annual scientific council which is held within the framework of the Research Commission of the Academic Council of Savoie Mont Blanc University and to refer to this council for approval and validation of all decisions falling within its competence, to organize the annual meeting of the user community, to assign the resources allocated to the project, to arbitrate the distribution of resources between users, to set up the charters defining how to install and give remote access to equipment and data, to define and monitor partnership relations as well as the management policy of the intellectual property represented by data and programs stored and used. The Steering Committee works in collaboration with the Technical Manager of the project and his team who is responsible for establishing technical specifications for the acquisition of equipments, defining general conditions of service, setting up training and user support.
The Steering Committee meets at least once a year and if necessary when convened by the USMB Scientific Manager. It includes:
- the Scientific and Technical Managers of the project,
- the IN2P3 Deputy Scientific Director for “Computing and Data”,
- directors of partner laboratories or their representatives (computing managers),
- the USMB and LAPP IT managers,
- representatives of MUST operations team.
The Steering Committee may invite experts as well as the heads of the services of Savoie Mont Blanc University who will contribute to MUST progress.
