LAPP
The Annecy Particle Physics Laboratory uses MUST resources for its research in particle physics but also in multi-messenger astronomy as well as for more application-oriented developments.
Several case studies:
-
ATLAS: Access and processing of data from the LHC (CERN)
-
CTA: Storage and Artificial Intelligence Federation at the service of high energy astronomy
-
MUTOMO: In search of a hidden tomb with muon tomography
LISTIC
The Computer Science, Systems, Information and Knowledge Processing Laboratory is developing a strong research activity around image analysis and artificial intelligence, for academic and industrial projects. In order to cope with the significant needs for image analysis and the massive volumes of data to be processed, an expertise with the MUST mesocentre has been built, particularly in GPU computing.
Among the many studies carried out, let us quote:
-
The description of spatiotemporal data for video indexing
-
Analysis of hyperspectral images: deep-learning and optimization of the MUST computing platform
-
Affective computing by vision
-
Structural monitoring and Earth observation by remote sensing
-
Technology transfer to businesses
LEPMI
The “Organic Materials with Specific Properties” team, from the Laboratory of Electrochemistry and Physicochemistry of Materials and Interfaces conducts research on the design, the implementation and characterization of high added value materials.
These materials, and in particular complex polymers, are also the subject of molecular modeling projects for which MUST’s high performance computing (HPC) resources are used.
LAPTh
Within the Astro-Cosmo team of the Annecy-le-Vieux Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, MUST mesocenter is used to store either large astrophysical data or images of simulations of galaxy formation. These data are then processed for full scientific exploitation by the members of the team.
