The MUST platform holds its annual steering committee
MUST, the Scientific Computing and Data Infrastructure of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) and the CNRS, presented its results and prospects during its steering committee on March 27, 2025.
An update on the uses of the MUST platform and the key events of 2024 were presented. A development anticipated for several years, the mesocenter’s external network connectivity was upgraded from 20 to 40 Gb/s at the beginning of 2024. The new national research infrastructure for mesocenters, succeeding Mesonet and France Grilles, was discussed, as well as the mesocenter’s national visibility. The update on the operation of the computer room at the Maison de la Mécatronique (Mechatronics House) provided an opportunity to discuss the work carried out in 2024 jointly by the IT team in charge of MUST and the Annecy Asset Management Service (SEP) of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) to create a safer and more environmentally friendly datacenter. It also served to reiterate the importance of collaboration between all parties (LAPP and USMB administrative services, the Annecy campus Asset Management Service, and the IT teams) for the smooth operation of MUST. The results of the IDEFICS project, led by the CNRS but which includes the LISTIC laboratory and the USMB Foundation, were also presented, as well as a reminder of its objectives for supporting AI.
