MUST computing and storage center is based on the most generic hardware and software infrastructure in order to match as many use cases as possible. A particular attention is given to performance and reliability of implemented solutions.
The platform’s computing and storage capacities have been growing for more than 10 years. The graphs below show the evolution of these capacities, expressed in SPEC HEP2006 units and Terabytes.
Other services are available through industrial partnerships with the IDEFICS project.
Computing
At hardware level, the computing part of MUST is currently provided by a set of 200 servers supplying around 100000 HEPSPEC06 (~140 TFlops) and allowing to run more than 7000 simultaneous computing tasks (jobs), each of them being able to use at least 2 GB of memory. Over 92 % of computing resources are constantly used, mainly because of the intensive LHC computing.
Expertise and assistance
Within MUST, dedicated teams ensure the proper functioning of the platform and offer support to users for scientific computing.
